God is good...
and so full of surprises. Two days ago, I was freaking out about the lab report due and midterm that I have tomorrow. It was so bad that I felt like just giving up and sulked too much. Yesterday, I began to get motivated and once again realized how much Andrew has to deal with sometimes. Today, I’m done with my lab report, just now studying for my midterm again, and tomorrow I am going to be...
Sometimes I really have to remind myself that there are aspects of my personality, my drive, and motivation in life that are much stronger and influential than just my feelings and emotions.

It’s good to remember your own advice.
Late night thoughts.
People say that I tend to feel guilty or bad about things that I don’t need to feel bad about. That I’m too nice. I don’t normally think that they’re right, but sometimes I do feel like I can be a pushover. Right now, though, I’m really not sure. I’m seriously conflicted right now about what I should do about a friend situation that I have. If I’ve been...
handwritten goodness
Just finished re-reading a stack of old Christmas/birthday/Valentine’s day/etc. cards and realized that we hardly handwrite messages or use the post anymore. We tell each other happy birthday/Christmas/new year/etc. via text messages, email, and facebook. While it’s quite convenient, there seems to be less thought and feeling put into the messages (usually). I hope that we can still...

The Art of Friendship
After dissecting a friendship this morning, this is an encouraging reminder about what friendships are and how they really should be. I need to reflect and think more about this… and about what to do/how to fix this friendship. But for now, as I need to finish my final essay, this reminds me of how I have the greatest Friend of all. :)

Reallyyy excited, now.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be done with another exam and I’ll be stressing out about my paper… but today I’m excited and really smiley becauseeeee…
I found out that my psychology exam will be multiple choice and I have adequate time to study and review notes that we got in seminar today.
My CRC exam went pretty well (I think).
I’m halfway done with finals.
I had...
Freeeeezing
Two story houses in England take along time to heat via radiators. The 40 degree weather outside is creeping into my room faster than the heat coming from the radiator and being cold is completely distracting me from studying.
One final and one more essay to go until the stress of packing up all my stuff and a Barcelona trip. Then it’ll be time to go HOME! It’s bittersweet, but...

I should probably try to blog more often than I do so that I can help myself to remember later on what I did here. That’s what I miss about keeping up with a journal… I used to remember events so clearly and in chronological order, too. Now, it’s not as easy for me to remember certain things because I never wrote it down or recorded the memory. It’s not even that I don’t...
Photographs [and memories]
I used to find joy in taking pictures of anything and everything… flowers in my backyard, necklaces, trees, insects, snails, anything in my room or hanging on my walls, etc. I used to be like my younger sister, April, who takes a million pictures of just one object but somehow I changed at some point. Recently, I want to only take “meaningful” or pretty photos because I want a...
Oxford
I promised pictures of Oxford, so here are a few! It was a lot of fun to go visit and actually, I sort of wish that I had an opportunity to study there. There seems to be a lot of tradition at the school, still, and students get to have fancy dinners and wear robes! Haha, the studying also seems to be very intense there though, as they have weekly sessions with a tutor and loads of essays to...
Live simply so that others may simply live.
Reflections and a summary
Anime/manga, separation, long phone calls, lots of innocent silliness, really growing up, firsts.
Photography, late night phone calls, first overuse of minutes, and outdoor adventures.
Santa Cruz, deep talks, and watching movies I wouldn’t have otherwised watched.
Guitar playing, singing, studying, seeing Matt Wertz, webcam sessions.
The Present. :]
Andrew sent me a song via youtube...
so meaaaan... i miss this. :P
I was talking to my younger sister about how I'm going to miss her birthday since I'm in England... and then I realized that I always miss her birthday when I'm at university because SD isn't close to home either. xD But, I can potentially be there on her 16th birthday! And this is how the conversation followed...

Oxford = loveeee. But not more than Edinburgh. Pictures to come later :)
Do you ever have those days where you feel like you need to restart/recharge yourself before you can do anything productive, or anything at all? This is one of those days… and I’m going to go back home to nap.
A weekend in Edinburgh
Boy, am I glad that Michelle and I decided that we wanted to go to Edinburg! I loved it a lot more than I was expecting to, so this is going to be a long entry. Originally, I typed all of this up as an email for Andrew but I edited it to make it more of a blogpost. So, here it goeees!
Let’s start with Thursday. I took the bus to the train station on Thursday morning to meet Alex and...
I felt like I was in a storybook because of how amazing it was to be outside in Edinburg where the architecture is beautiful, the city is vibrant, hills are green, and a random pond could be found with swans. :)
Home vs. Brighton
Since I’m too sleepy to do actually do anything productive (like read articles for my psychology essay), this will be a blog about how things are different here in England than in the US. Plus, Jonathan has been bugging me to post something new… but hopefully he won’t make a comment about it that will upset me later. >:[
This blog may end up sounding like a rant, but...
Being able to sit in my room and just study actually helps me feel more comfortable here. It’s a plus that it’s sunny today, too. <3 I think that it helps that I also have the first 6 seasons of HIMYM on an external hard drive, thanks to Michelle. :D My internet is too slow at my homestay for me to watch shows online, so it’s nice to have them. Hopefully I pace myself and make...

Safe.
Sooo, mini breakdown #1 has occurred! I got to my homestay house today, which is approximately 6 miles away from the University of Sussex, and I spent the majority of my time missing home and then thinking about how much I wished that I could live with the UCEAP friends I made. From Sept 21-24 (today), I had an orientation with 29 other students from different UCs who are also going to be studying...
It’s official! I am now on my own (kinda) since I dropped my sister odd at the airport this morning. It was nice to visit our relatives in Harrogate together despite Mia’s indecisive, “I’m good doing anything” nature because my aunt was very decisive and took us around to a couple of cute places. It was fun getting to know our cousins better as well. It definitely...
Getting to England
I kept thinking about how I should start this entry and if I should start a different blog or not, but I don’t want to use a different blog website since I already have the tumblr. Also, I’m already uploading pictures to both my dad’s smugmug site and facebook- I don’t want to have to update a fourth website… But anyway, for those that didn’t know, I am studying...
Moving.
This is the 4th time I’ve had to move out of the place that I’ve been living in and I realize that I still have a ridiculous amount of stuff. Four bins worth of school supplies and stuff that go on my desk; a mini suitcase full of books for recreational reading (even though I don’t usually have time to read for fun anymore); two suitcases and two 3-ft tall ziplock bags full of...

Despite expecting him to play video games for over an hour, I end up opening my door to find him holding a grocery bag filled with ingredients to make homemade butterbeer so that we can drink it while watching HP7 pt. 1. <3 APK is such a cutie.

Goals of the Summer
Since it’s finals week and I don’t have my first final until two days from now, it’s only appropriate that I post this list up now, right? :]

Twenty-one.
I am a relative mellow person. I acknowledge and accept that. I also find it slightly frustrating when I feel like I have to not be mellow/do something exciting for my birthday because people want me to.
Two of my cousins flew down from norcal for my birthday and while I’m grateful and feel very loved that they did that just for me, I also felt guilty because they like to party and...
College Life Lessons
leeedialove:
Dear Class of 2010,
This will be my last entry written specifically for you; beginning with the launch of our new site in early September, I’ll begin focusing on the future class of 2011. I hope that you guys won’t be strangers; stay in touch either in person (come visit us!) or online (please drop by the blogs from time to time and say hi).
As you begin your college experience,...
